There was a lot riding on the 2024 election. When I joined the grassroots organization Creatives for Harris as a volunteer creative in August 2024, I knew I'd have the opportunity to sink my claws into meaningful work.
In the wake of J.D. Vance's "childless cat ladies are useless" remarks, the Cat Ladies for Kamala affinity group quickly got in formation and sprang into action.
As of 2024, the U.S. led the world in cat cafés, with key swing states like Pennsylvania in the top five. We decided to embrace the “Cat Lady” moniker by helping cat cafés transform into Cat Lady Cafés to drive voter registration, promote Harris-Walz policies and raise funds alongside Cat Ladies for Kamala.
